City of Otricoli

The camping it is situated in a plateau between the hills of the region Umbria and Lazio. The view comprehends the mountain of S. Pancrazio where S. Francesco used to go and prey. Walking distance from the camping there are the suggestive ruins of the ancient Roman city of Ocriculum (I century a.c.); this site was enchanced in 1775 by Pope Pio VII who preserved the most important statues and mosaics in the Vatican Museum, where today we can still admire.

At about 800 mt from the camping there is the river Tiber, where it is possible to do sports like fishing, birdwatching and kayaking. The town of Otricoli counts about 1800 inhabitants, the services that we can find here are: market, bank, bakery, butchery, newspaper shop, restaurants and every thursday there is a small hawkers market.
